Packing galore

Today is the day!

We leave for the airport this afternoon and fly through the night. We have a short layover in Iceland and then we arrive in London around 1 pm (their time) tomorrow. I believe London is 5 hours ahead.

It's quite an exercise trying to pack your life in 1 bag. At least everything you will need for life for 2 months. I did it, somehow, with all of my clothes, shoes, toiletries, tools, etc in one bag and a little neck carrier for my passport and money.

I'm enjoying my last few hours at home, and I keep reminding myself of the quote my Aunt left me with- "the world is a book and those who don't travel read only one page." That's some pretty good motivation! Guess I'd better go...

At this point I'm a little nervous, but I think I will feel much better once I get on the plane. I feel like everyone else is more nervous for me. Don't worry everyone- I just finished self defense class and I'm ready! Just ask my friends I have practiced on.

So anyway, I'll miss you, USA, especially because it will be cold when I get back (which I'm not the biggest fan of). I will miss all of you immensely but hey, you can always come meet us! And I will be writing here often.

Talk to you abroad! :) ciao

  1. Your Aunt is quoting from the greats—St. Augustine originally said that.

Can't wait to hear about all your adventures!
